Founded in 1913 as an affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, WRJ strengthens the voice of women worldwide and empowers them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values. To fulfill this vision, WRJ engages tens of thousands of women through a global network of hundreds of sisterhoods and women’s groups. Stronger together, we ensure that these women make a difference in the world.

Temple Emanu-El WRJ/Sisterhood was established under the national WRJ umbrella.  Since its inception, Temple Emanu-El WRJ/Sisterhood is comprised of dedicated and diverse women who care deeply about and are involved partners with our congregation, our Dallas community and our Jewish family around the world.  Learn more about Temple Emanu-El WRJ/Sisterhood history here.

Our members are of all ages and in all stages of life – from college graduates to mothers with school-aged children to working women who squeeze volunteer hours into very busy lives to full-time volunteers who generously share their life experiences and expertise.  There is something magical about women supporting women, sharing their knowledge and offering their friendship and counsel. We are women who study together, play and laugh together, worship together and work together toward goals of Tikkun Olam – making the world a better place.
